Dam impressive: the Albigna dam is 115 metres high and located 2,100 metres above sea level. Fitted with 1,280 panels, the dam also produces solar power. In fact, it’s Switzerland’s first large-scale high-alpine solar energy facility. Our plant cableway will take you over a deep ravine to the foot of the dam, where you can discover the cavities and other highlights. The Albigna dam was built between 1955 and 1959, and as well as producing electricity, it helps prevent flooding.
