The glass fibres spliced throughout are laid in the closed concrete blocks of the ewz power lines (depth 60 to 120 cm or deeper) and are therefore optimally protected. We are constantly expanding our high-quality fibre-optic infrastructure.
Within the city of Zurich we can connect any site with the ewz infrastructure; including redundancy on request. We develop company locations and data centres throughout Switzerland.

Your continuous fibre-optic connection is planned, implemented and operated by our specialists. Before we hand the fibre-optic connection over to you, we perform an end-to-end final measurement with effective line lengths and attenuation values. On request, we can provide you with detailed line diagrams (GIS documentation as kmz/kml file).

ewz.fiber
With ewz.fiber you use a passive fibre-optic service with a high-availability, continuous point-to-point fibre-optic connection (dark fibre). You operate the data network yourself and determine the network technology, protocols, bandwidth and security at your own discretion. Cables containing up to 432 fibres are used in our ‘backbone’, which runs inside the concrete blocks of the ewz power lines. ewz.fiber uses the standard single-mode fibre G.652/G.657.
