We encrypt all data traffic with optional 10 or 100 Gbit/s AES 256 encryption modules – without additional overheads or appreciable delay. The key length of 256 bits and the automated key exchange using the Diffie-Hellmann algorithm ensure maximum security. The encryption is designed in line with FIPS-140-2 level 2.

ewz.optical line is a premium managed service built on the latest xWDM and Ethernet technology. This dedicated layer 1 service is perfect for LAN and SAN connections, networking your company’s sites and connecting to data centres throughout Switzerland. Data is transferred transparently through dedicated fibre optics.
ewz.optical line/secure
ewz.optical line secure is based on the xWDM platform and a high-performance AES-256 encryption which encrypts all of layer 1 in hardware without generating appreciable delay or additional overhead. This ensures a highly secure transfer of your data at all times. Advanced encryption standard (AES) in counter mode (CTR) uses a key length of 256 bits to ensure maximum security. Additional protection is provided by the automated key exchange according to the Diffie-Hellmann algorithm. The encryption is designed in line with FIPS-140-2 level 2. Key management is carried out either by you or by ewz.
