- Disconnect electronic devices, including power generation systems such as generators or solar panels, from the grid.
- Open electric garage doors before switching off the power.
- Do not use the lift shortly before the planned power outage. You can also block it as a preventive measure.
- Landline telephones will not work during the power cut. Fully charge your smartphone before the power outage.
- Tell older residents and children about the power outage.
- Turn off stoves, irons, drills, vacuum cleaners, modems, PCs, TVs, etc. by hand and leave them switched off during the interruption. Otherwise, the devices will switch on automatically as soon as power is available again.
- Simple lamps can remain switched on. These will show you when the power outage has ended.
- To prevent cold escaping from the fridge or freezer, avoid opening these during the power outage.
Check which devices (alarm clock, oven clock, aquarium, heating, refrigerator, etc.) need to be reset.
Planned power outages are required for maintenance and construction work on the electricity grid. This includes new, upgraded or dismantled grid connections as well as construction power connections, repairs and upgrades.
Systems such as lifts, garage doors and solar panels will not function during the outage. Electrical appliances such as cookers, fridges and TVs will also be out of service. Have a torch ready.
You will be informed as early as possible, at least two days in advance, by an informational letter. You will also find notices on the front door and on any garage doors.
Provide access to building junction boxes, usually in the basement. Leave the relevant doors unlocked during this time. This allows the work to be carried out without delay.

According to the regulations on the operation of the distribution system and the supply of energy (Art. 2 para. 2.3.6), our electricity customers must ensure that no persons or property are endangered in the event of a power outage or failure. You must therefore protect your technical systems from power outages and power fluctuations yourself.
Am I entitled to compensation?
No, you are not entitled to compensation. An uninterrupted power supply cannot be guaranteed. This also applies to companies whose operations are restricted during this period.
