The Heinzenberg is sunny, even in winter. The PV system produces 11 GWh of electricity per year, which is roughly equivalent to the electricity consumption of Cazis. In addition, the mountain has a very advantageous topography. It is neither too rocky nor too steep. This makes it easier to build and minimises the risks in terms of natural hazards.
The area is very well developed and can be reached by road. There are already cable conduits in place that can be used for energy dissipation. The connection will be made to the Rothenbrunnen substation with sufficient capacity. This means that no access structures are necessary and the existing infrastructure will continue to be used. This simplifies the logistics considerably.
The PV system is located below the Präzer Höhi in an area without spatial planning conflicts. The area borders the winter sports zone and the Sarn ski lift. No national or local protected areas, such as dry meadows, are affected. Dual agricultural use for alpine farming will continue to be possible.
