You draw sustainable solar power from your own neighbourhood.
You use renewable solar power and protect the environment.
You avoid fluctuating market prices.
ewz.solarquartier – a local electricity community (LEG) – is proactively supporting the energy transition by bringing together local consumers and producers of solar power. All ewz customers with basic supply will be able to benefit and join an LEG in the future.
Producers of solar power, such as the local supermarket or the school building in the district, will generate sustainable electricity on their roofs. As a member of an LEG, you as a consumer will get easy access to this local solar power. If the sun isn’t shining, electricity will come from the grid as usual.
With the yes vote on the Electricity Act of 9 June 2024, it is clear that LEGs will be possible in the near future – probably from 2026. The regulatory framework for LEGs will be announced at the ordinance level in the first quarter of 2025. From that point on, you can check whether your electricity connection is eligible for participation in the ewz.solarquartier LEG and then place a binding order.
We will establish an LEG as soon as we have enough LEG participants and the regulatory requirements have been met. Are you interested? Put yourself on the waiting list now and we’ll let you know as soon as things get started:
Yes, with ewz.solarquartier you can supply your surplus solar power to your neighbourhood. Find out here why it pays to become a member of a local electricity community as an electricity producer.
