For us, green electricity means climate-friendly and environmentally friendly energy from hydro, wind and solar power.
We produce most of it ourselves or at our partner plants, also located in Switzerland. This means that we can guarantee sustainable energy production.
By producing green electricity, we're playing a key role in replacing nuclear power. That is why we promote the expansion of green power plants.
Water, wind and sunlight will always be available as energy sources in the future. We can therefore be secure in the knowledge that reliable production of green electricity can continue.
We invest in the production of green electricity where the natural resources are available. Compatibility with the climate and the environment are important to us, as is cost-effectiveness.
Surveys show that sustainability is important to our customers. With our green electricity, we're making a contribution to energy transition, to protection of the climate and the environment and to energy supply that is compatible with Switzerland's 2,000-Watt Society target. Thank you for joining us in committing to a sustainable future.
We're proud of our hydropower plants in Switzerland. These power plants with their own reservoir are particularly flexible and are therefore ready to be used when the sun is hiding or the wind turbines aren’t turning.
The sun shines all year long, producing thousands of times more renewable energy than we need – free of charge. Photovoltaic systems convert this energy into solar power. It's completely eco-friendly, and there are no CO₂ emissions.
We use wind turbines to convert the kinetic energy of the wind, firstly into mechanical energy via the rotor and then into electrical energy via a generator. No Co₂ or other pollutants are produced during this process.
